Oasys hosts the fifth edition of ‘Old West History’
On November 12 and 13, the V International Historical Reenactment, Old West History, took place, organized by Oasys MiniHollywood, Lamento Films and Armería Leonardo. This event, unique in Spain, has established itself as the most important event of the Western genre in our country, with more than 1,800 visitors.
More than 240 national and international reenactors brought 19th century American history to life over the weekend, and developed Historical Reenactments such as the death of Wild Bill Hickock, the Ok Corral duel, and the Historical Reenactment of the Abraham Lincoln assassination. As well as a multitude of activities and camps of different themes, through which visitors were able to learn what life was like in the Far West.
Throughout the town of the West you could walk among mythical characters such as Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Calamity Jane or Crazy Horse, among many others, with the participation of real actors, as well as the factions of the Confederates and the Union, who made the delight of the visitors in their battle in the main square.
On the other hand, the youngest were able to enjoy the exhibition of Playmobil dioramas and that of Madelman, both installed in the railway carriage.
Added to all this, gastronomic days of the time were developed based on the typical American dishes of the Far West in the Arizona Restaurant, such as Mexican chili, pork ribs and other barbecue menus.
In this way, the Old West History of Oasys MiniHollywood has developed for another year, consolidating itself as a national and international meeting point for the Historical Reenactors community in one of the most important events of the Western genre.
